Day 1 – Arusha – Kogatende

Welcome to Tanzania! After a restful night in Arusha, you’ll kick off your adventure with a delicious breakfast before being transferred to Arusha Airport. Here, you’ll board a short flight to the Kogatende area in the Northern Serengeti. Get ready for breathtaking aerial views of Tanzania that will leave you in awe.

Upon arrival, your friendly Sarafika Tours driver will be waiting to greet you. As you enter the Lobo area, you’ll find yourself in a wide valley filled with sparse woodlands and open savannah, creating a perfect habitat for lions, leopards, and elephants. The landscape is dotted with kopjes—small hills that provide stunning vantage points— and to the east, lush forested hills are home to many tented lodges.

Spend your day exploring this captivating region of the park, where you’ll be on the lookout for the spectacular wildebeest migration and the iconic Big Five.

In the afternoon, you have the option to extend your game drive until sunset or enjoy one of the exciting activities offered at your lodge. Choose from nature walks, visits to local villages, or even night game drives outside the park. Each option promises a unique way to connect with the beauty and culture of this remarkable destination.

Day 2 – Full Day North Serengeti

After a Good Night on the Plains of the Serengeti After a hearty breakfast, we’ll set off for an exciting game drive in the Kogatende area. Our search will take us around the kopjes, where we’ll look for carnivores and large groups of wildebeest preparing to make their dramatic crossing of the Mara River into Kenya. As we continue our journey, we’ll explore the Bologonja and Wogatende areas, eventually reaching the iconic Mara River. This vital waterway is home to a large population of hippos and Nile crocodiles and represents the final major challenge for the wildebeest migration. If we’re lucky and patient, we might witness the breathtaking river crossing, where wildebeest and zebras brave the currents and the lurking crocodiles in their quest for safety on the other side. After an exhilarating day of wildlife observation, we’ll return to our comfortable accommodations in the heart of Serengeti National Park. Enjoy a delicious dinner and unwind, surrounded by the sounds of the African night. It’s the perfect end to a day filled with unforgettable moments!

Day 3 – North Serengeti – Central Serengeti

After a Night Filled with the Sounds of Wildlife After the breakfast, we’ll start our game drive across the beautiful plains of Togoro and the Mbuzi Mawe kopjes. Keep your eyes wide open for a variety of wildlife, from the elusive dik-diks to majestic elephants, and everything in between. As we continue our adventure, we’ll cross the Banagi River and make our way to the Seronera region in Central Serengeti. This area is famous for being ‘big cat country,’ with its rocky kopjes and acacia trees providing the perfect habitat for spotting prides of lions, agile cheetahs on the hunt, and leopards lounging high in the trees. The Seronera region also features serene hippo pools and expansive open spaces, giving us plenty of opportunities for unforgettable wildlife viewing. After a thrilling day of exploration, you’ll enjoy a delicious dinner and settle in for the night in the heart of Serengeti National Park, in accommodations that match your style and preferences. It’s the perfect way to end a day filled with adventure and wonder!

Day 4 – Central Serengeti – Ngorongoro Area

After a satisfying breakfast, we’ll set off on our journey back to the Ngorongoro area. This route will take us through the Serengeti again, offering a fantastic chance to spot any wildlife you may have missed on our previous adventures. As you take in the stunning landscape, you’ll likely see thousands of animals, from migrating wildebeests and zebras to graceful giraffes, agile antelopes, and mighty African elephants, all set against the backdrop of this beautiful region. Keep your eyes peeled for sightings of sleek cheetahs, elusive leopards, scavenging hyenas, and, of course, the majestic lions that call this area home. Each moment is an opportunity for incredible photographs and memories. As the day unfolds, we’ll make our way to your chosen accommodations, either perched on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater or nestled in the charming town of Karatu. Enjoy a delicious dinner and settle in for a restful night, knowing that tomorrow holds even more adventures in this truly special place!

Day 5 – Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha

Today, We’re Heading to a Truly Special Place! After breakfast, we’ll set off on our journey to the Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area is home to an incredible diversity of wildlife, with over 120 mammal species, including the renowned Big Five. This is a coveted safari destination, offering you the rare opportunity to see the endangered black rhinoceros grazing peacefully on the grassy plains. You’ll also find a significant population of hippos enjoying the cool waters of the crater. From the comfort of your open-top safari vehicle, you’ll be able to observe and capture stunning photographs of some of Africa’s most iconic creatures. After a day filled with excitement and adventure, we’ll enjoy a delightful picnic lunch by the park’s famous hippo pool. As the day winds down, we’ll begin our journey back to Arusha, concluding this remarkable safari experience. It’s a day you won’t forget!

Fantastic Tour Company- highly recommend I had a wonderful experience with Jasmine of Sarafika Tours. I made a last minute change in my travel plans and decided to add Tanzania to my itinerary. Jasmine was super responsive and attentive to all my questions and concerns while putting together a 4 day safari and 3 night stay in Zanzibar in less than 3 weeks prior to departure for my mother and I. The private safari was fantastic- our guide was great and we enjoyed all the accommodations. Ngorogoro and the Serengeti were amazing. Everything went seamlessly and Jasmine checked in regularly throughout our entire trip to make sure we were satisfied. I reached out to multiple safari companies and Sarafika offered the best priced packages for my needs. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Sarafika Tours when visiting Tanzania.

Family safari We came across Jasmine from Sarafika Tours through someone else. She is Tanzanian but has lived in the Netherlands for a long time and therefore also speaks Dutch. We wanted to travel with 7 people, including 3 small children (4, 7 and 9) and grandparents in their 70s, and therefore had some wishes regarding overnight stays (preferably with a swimming pool, family rooms, not driving too far distances, etc.) . Jasmine understood this immediately and immediately drew up a good program for this. Everywhere with family rooms / tented camps so that we could sleep together with the children. There was also a swimming pool everywhere so that the children could splash around after a long safari day (and we could have a quiet drink). At Rhotia Valley the waiter even played games with our children. Baraka was our guide and this was also a success. We laughed about how he scared away monkeys during our picnics. He spotted a lot of animals. And he had a good sense of what we wanted. Sarafika tours also offered a good price compared to other operators, but with excellent quality.
